The Institute of Development (IoD) is a Cyprus-based organisation founded in 2003, dedicated to advancing personal, professional, and organisational wellbeing. The Institute applies evidence-based approaches rooted in positive psychology, emotional intelligence, character education, and soft skills development to empower individuals and communities to thrive.
IoD delivers training, coaching, mentoring, and counselling services to schools, youth, educators, organisations, and businesses across the public and private sectors. With a multidisciplinary team of researchers, trainers, and project managers, the Institute has implemented numerous EU-funded projects addressing mental health, wellbeing, employability, inclusion, and career development. A flagship initiative, the “School of Happiness,” promotes emotional resilience, positive mental health, and supportive learning environments in education settings.
In the CATALYST project, IoD contributes its strong expertise in mental health, wellbeing, and positive psychology. The organisation plays a key role in the development of the Mental Health Toolkit and youth worker training modules, ensuring that project outputs are grounded in scientific evidence and practical application.
